The Common Document Generation Service allows you to create consistent office documents using structured data. It’s like mail-merge for your line of business application. Automatically create documents, presentations or spreadsheets. Whether you need 5 documents or 5000, this service is ideal for creating form letters, invoices, reports and so much more.
The service works with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as LibreOffice or OpenOffice. You can choose formats from a rich library of templates. Create custom documents with your own charts, images, logos and fonts.
Use the Common Document Generation Service to:
• Create custom letters to clients, including detailed information related to their files
• Create requests for proposals and related standard-form contracts
• Generate monthly reports by automatically inserting data into documents
The Common Document Generation Service has been developed and tested to make it easy to integrate with your line of business systems. You use familiar office programs to create and edit files while the service is managed centrally to ensure an efficient, reliable process.
A library of file formats including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF is available for you to jumpstart creation of custom reports, requests for information and many other documents.
The component is available as a hosted service or the source code can also be incorporated into your own application.
