Understanding online identity solutions
B.C. has 4 online identity solutions.
BC Services Card Login
BC Services Card Login is a trusted, high-assurance identity that allows individuals to access online government services including business services, knowing that their privacy is protected and their data is secure. It is an established solution with over 2.2 million users.
Person credential
Person credential helps individuals verify their identity, both online and during in-person interactions. It’s an emerging solution, and is highly flexible and privacy-preserving.
Digital Business Card
The Digital Business Card allows individuals to prove they represent an officially registered B.C. business. It’s an emerging solution, in production.
BCeID
BCeID was B.C.’s first identity solution. Released in 2002, it relies on a username and password. We recommend considering newer online identity solutions.
